WHAT IS THIS PROJECT?
The Wichita Transit Network Redesign is a project that will result in a detailed plan to guide Wichita Transit over the next decade.
Wichita Transit periodically conducts a comprehensive systemwide analysis to identify existing challenges and opportunities for improvement. This project will identify local and regional transportation needs, challenges, and opportunities, create a cohesive planning effort, and prioritize short to long-term transit investments.
HOW LONG IS THIS PROJECT?
The Wichita Transit Network Plan is a year-long project.
The Wichita Transit Network Redesign (TNR) began in 2013 and is scheduled to launch in August 2026, following an 18-month planning process that concluded in winter 2025. Between October 2023 and February 2025, Wichita Transit conducted a comprehensive evaluation of its operations and service area demographics. Public input gathered throughout the process helped shape the final recommendations.

GET INVOLVED
The project includes robust community engagement.
You can get involved by taking a survey, attending pop-ups and public meetings, and listening in on stakeholder discussions. Information gathered from these activities will be used to develop the recommendations to improve your transit experience.
Route Renaming Survey
When the new Transit Center is serving as the Hub for our transit network, all routes will change slightly. We would like to use this unique opportunity to simplify route names and your responses will help guide our next steps for renaming the bus routes.
