The changes to Wichita Transit aims to optimize service by streamlining routes, improving access to destinations, upgrading frequencies on select routes, and establishing a foundation for future growth.
Major Network Change: The Hub
A major part of the redesign is The Hub, a new multimodal transit center located at 207 S. Sycamore in Delano. It will replace the current downtown transit center at Topeka and William. Construction began in October 2024 and buses will begin operating from The Hub on June 6, 2026.

Routes and service updates

Improved route alignment and expanded service increase access to major employment centers, healthcare, education, grocery stores, and other essential services.

Improved transfer points to reduce delays and simplify cross-city travel.
Key Service changes

Maintain frequency improvements implemented on Routes 21 and 22, and increase frequencies on Route 16 to 30 minutes during peak hours.

Increased focus on east-west and cross-town connectivity.

New Pilot Route 203 (Pawnee Connector) will test bidirectional service along Pawnee Street between West Street and Edgemoor Street for an 18-month evaluation period prior to permanent implementation.

Q-Line becomes Route 24 (College Hill).

Route 201 will be discontinued.

A New Transit Center for Our Growing Community

The City of Wichita is proud to announce The Hub, a modern, multimodal transit center that will serve as the new central terminal for Wichita Transit buses and shuttles. Located at 207 S. Sycamore in the Delano neighborhood, just west of Equity Bank Park (former Riverfront Stadium),
The Hub will replace the current downtown transit facility at Topeka and William.
Designed to improve connectivity, accessibility, and rider experience, The Hub will be a welcoming hub for commuters, visitors, and residents alike. The facility will accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists, scooter users, drivers, ride-share services, and transit riders, reflecting Wichita’s commitment to safe and efficient transportation options for all.
Construction on The Hub began in October 2024 following approval of project funding and design phases, and buses will begin operating from The Hub on June 6, 2026. The project includes local and federal investment to support Wichita’s long-term transportation goals.
